About Lumina
Lumina started as a frustration. A shared Google Sheet. Twelve tabs. Formulas that broke when someone changed a cell. An HR manager spending two hours every Monday morning reconciling who was off and when.
Most leave management software falls into one of two categories: enterprise HRIS systems with a leave module buried six menus deep, or consumer-grade apps that handle simple requests but fall apart the moment you need accrual policies or multi-department management.
Neither works for the kinds of organisations we care about — 50 to 500 people, distributed across locations, often with employees who work in environments where internet access is unreliable.
Lumina is the platform we would have wanted: purpose-built for leave management, genuinely offline-capable, and configurable enough to handle real employment contracts without requiring a consultant.
Teams are distributed. Connections drop. People work in warehouses, on factory floors, on construction sites. A leave platform that requires a stable internet connection is not a leave platform for your whole team.
Every feature in Lumina is the result of a real problem someone had. We do not add features because competitors have them. We add features because a team could not do their job without them.
The goal of a leave platform is to make leave management invisible — automatic, accurate, and requiring no manual chasing. If an administrator spends more than a few minutes a week on leave, the platform has failed.
Data isolation, role enforcement, audit logs, and secure credentials are not selling points. They are the minimum standard for software that touches employee records. We treat them accordingly.
Lumina is built by a small, distributed team. We use our own product daily. Every bug we fix and every feature we ship affects us directly.
